Sonic Collaborations between Humans, Non-human Animals and Artificial Intelligences: Contemporary and future aesthetics in more-than-human worlds

This article sketches a theoretical framework that allows the conceptual inclusion of non-human animals and artificial intelligences in human sonic collaborations. Post-humanist concepts question categorical divide between nature culture, following Donna Haraway Bruno Latour, converge with contemporary, non-adaptationist evolutionary aesthetics. Therefore, anthropocentric ‘othering’ non-humans gives way to concept more-than-human sociality sound. We offer some propositions for extension socially engaged sound practices collaborations humans intelligences, then exemplify such multispecies by analysing existing projects from fields art musical performance. After drawing more general conclusions these analyses, we hint at potential aesthetical ethical parallels animal AI creative agency. Finally, point out few questions see as important future advanced settings collaborations, especially when it comes assemblages different technologies animal–computer interaction might enable intelligence cooperate creatively.
